What Bradshaw is
Bradshaw is a database of priced funding rounds, valuations and ownership for UK private companies. It reads the filings that companies make at Companies House, works out each round, and shows the working for every figure with a link to the filing page behind it.
Bradshaw covers rounds that have no press coverage found as well as rounds that were announced. The press check is a dated search, not proof that nothing was published.
Where the data comes from
Every source is public.
- Companies House share allotments (form SH01 and the statement of capital that goes with it). This is the main source for rounds, prices per share and valuations.
- Companies House accounts, for net assets, cash and employees.
- The Companies House register of people with significant control (PSC), to show which companies hold shares in other companies. Individuals are left out.
- Innovate UK awards, from UKRI open data and 360Giving.
- SEC Form D filings, for US filings by issuers whose name matches a UK company.
Filings stay at Companies House. Bradshaw reads them, links to the page of the filing behind each figure, and does not re-host the documents.
How a figure is built
A round is one or more share allotments grouped by date and price. Price per share, cash raised, pre-money and post-money are worked out from the filed figures and shown with the arithmetic. Values are stored as filed and are never corrected. The full rules, with a worked example, are on How the figures work. Plain definitions of the terms are in the glossary.
How accurate it is
As measured: 98% precision and 84% recall, measured 22 Oct 2026. Precision is the share of published rounds that are priced equity rounds. Recall is the share of priced equity rounds that Bradshaw publishes. The test design, the confidence ranges and what is not covered are on How the figures work.
How often it updates
Rounds, benchmarks and signals are rebuilt every night. New filings also arrive from the Companies House stream every few minutes. Each data page states its data date.
Corrections
If a figure looks wrong, open the filing from the link in its working and compare it. If it still looks wrong, tell us which round and which figure, at [email protected]. The correction process is described under Updates and corrections.

How to cite Bradshaw
Cite the company page or the page that holds the figure, and give the data date shown on that page. For example: Bradshaw, “How the figures work”, bradshawdata.com/method, accessed on the date you read it. A figure from a round links to its filing at Companies House, which is the primary source.
